Training

Behaviour Under Pressure.

Learn how the behaviour of people changes under pressure and what really matters in the design of technology, systems and processes to keep stress low. Be aware that pressure need not be a deadly situation; sometimes, a critical timeline or an increased cognitive load can cause enough pressure for behaviour to change.

Who Is It For.

System / Product Managers

When you are responsible for system or product you have to understand the drawbacks and limitations your users will experience when work is not as usual.

UX and HMI Designers

When you are responsible for UX or HMI design, you have to understand the limited cognitive, perceptual and decision-making capacities of future users.

SHE (Safety Health Environment) Managers

When you are responsible for SHE topics you want to understand how humans react to stress, when it occurs or spikes - before an avoidable incident occurs.

HR Professionals

When you are responsible for people, you want to recognise stress early — long before it turns into sick leave, burnout, or lost talent.

Key Takeaways.

Understand what stress is and whether it is always critical

Pressure can cause stress, but it is not always negative. Learn to differentiate.

Brain & Body under Pressure

Understand the neuroscientific foundation of stress, to a very practical extent.

Behavioural signatures of stress

Read the signs before performance degrades and risk increases.

Stress Aware Design

Understand the key aspects of designing systems that work with human limits under pressure.

What more is there to know?

You will leave able to recognize pressure signatures in human behaviour, anticipate failure modes before they occur, and apply stress-aware design principles to technology, workflows, and organisational processes.

Practical and Applicable and Talkable

Freshly acquired knowledge shall be immediately applicable to make it stick. That’s why examples and small exercises form the skeleton of this course.

And especially developed visuals make it easy for you to build your mental model of how the physiology works and what you can, an cannot, do about it in your designs, processes, and operations.

You want to share your insights with others, or argue? There is an explicit focus on that – because it will make it easier for you to introduce changes or ideas if your learnings are tangible for your colleagues too.

Materials

All course materials are provided digitally, so participants can focus fully on the session without worrying about taking notes. Slides, worksheets, and visual summaries are shared after the course in a clean, ready-to-use format — easy to revisit, share with colleagues, or apply directly to ongoing projects. No binders, no printing, no clutter.

Costs and payment

The training costs 490 Euro (excl. VAT) per person.

Request a company quote if you prefer an inhouse training or wish to send more then 3 people to a training.

Payment has to be completed before attending the training.

4 hours is deliberate

Four hours mirrors the very principles the course teaches. It is deliberately designed to keep cognitive load manageable — enough time to go deep on how stress shapes behaviour, but not so long that you experience the kind of mental fatigue the course warns against.
There is something intentional about learning stress-aware design principles in an environment that is itself stress-aware. You will leave with clear insights intact, not overwhelmed — which is exactly the outcome good design should produce.
